January has arrived, and with it comes the inevitable period of post-Christmas blues that characterise the first month of every year. The festive period is over and instead of anticipation and excitement we are left with a dreary sense of reality as everything settles back into normality. BUT, it doesn’t have to be this way. To help you through this January we’ve put together a list of reasons January can be one of the best months of the year. Instead of trying to get through it as quickly as possible, this year you can sit back and enjoy your January with the following in mind.
Whilst it’s true that it’s easier to get caught up in the hectic pace of December as you rush towards Christmas, many people find this one of the most stressful months of the year, not to mention the added cost of buying presents for your nearest and dearest. January offers a chance to sit back and just relax. There are no big events looming for which you will be expected to splash out plenty of money, no Christmas parties/gatherings every weekend and you might actually be able to get in and out of your local supermarket at an acceptable hour.
By this we mean the return of REAL music. Granted, you can only listen to Christmas music during one of the month of the year, but there’s only so much we can take. Add to this the annual battle for Christmas number one and December can be a pretty dire month for music lovers. January gives us the chance not only to return to our regular music listening habits, but to discover new sounds too.
It’s undeniable that there is something exciting and exhilarating about starting a new year. It’s a fresh start and many people take this opportunity to make changes in their lives for the better. Whether it’s something small like making healthier alterations to your diet or something bigger, like a new career, January is a great time to implement the change in your life you think it needs. Focusing on doing something new and different will give you something to look forward to.
SalesJanuary can be one of the best times of the year to grab a bargain, with many retailers trying to get rid of old stock to make way for new. If you’re super organised you might even pick up some bargains for next Christmas as stores get rid of any Christmas themed items. If this is you, please keep it to yourself though – nobody likes pre-Christmas organisation smugness. You can view our sale items here: www.djmdirect.com/collections/sale
